Searchable Pet Database – Petango.Com

Choosing a pet can be a big decision for a lot of people. Petango is a real-time searchable database of pets in need of loving homes. Their mission is to support pet adoption of homeless pets throughout North America by assisting various reputable animal welfare organizations in matching pets with owners. Thousands of pets and families find each other every year. So to increase pet adoption and make it an easier process, Petango created an advanced yet simple to search website and database.

First you search by State/City or Zip Code, but then you can even go into more details and search by distance. For example, for dogs you can search by Breed, Gender, Age, Size, Color, and dogs that include a photo. I couldn’t believe it either when I typed in my zip code and kept the default distance of 35 miles, there were 395 dogs found! When you click on a picture you can then see all the details about the particular pet, even their name and a memo. The memo for one particular cutie talked about what happened to her sisters and when she was born and even what she likes! Then you can see on the side the contact information for the shelter the animal is at and you can check their website or email them. Not a dog person, make sure you check out Petango.com – Adopt a cat!

I was impressed with how detailed and thorough Petango is. Best of all, the webiste is free! Even if you are not ready to adopt a pet, it is still nice to at least check out all the animals and read about them.
