Book Review & Giveaway: "Run for Your Life" - 3 Winners! (Ends 12/8) - US/CAN

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 214 comments

A touch of romance, mystery, suspense and prolonged detective work is of course touched on throughout.  Now I haven’t read a James Patterson book in forever, not sure why I stopped, but I enjoyed this one.  It featured a new character, Michael Bennett, that is also in the Patterson book Step On A Crack.  Now I am used to Alex Cross so I am not a Michael Bennett fan yet, but he does have potential.   It is also interesting because he has ten children to care for!  Usually detective books, the detective is a loner whose job has got the best of him, but Bennett is more real and relateable.

I think with James Patterson, his books are hit or miss and it goes book to book.  I liked some and others, I was like “What was he thinking?”  Run for Your Life is a different book that has its ups and downs, but if you like Patterson then you have to at least give it a try.  After I read this book I even checked out Amazon to see what others thought and I have never seen a book with so many mixed reviews, they are completely scattered from 1-5 stars.  There are twists and turns and the ending is not the greatest, but as a book junkie I enjoyed it.

From the Publisher:

A calculating killer who calls himself The Teacher is taking on New York City, killing the powerful and the arrogant. His message is clear: remember your manners or suffer the consequences! For some, it seems that the rich are finally getting what they deserve. For New York's elite, it is a call to terror.
Only one man can tackle such a high-profile case: Detective Mike Bennett. The pressure is enough for anyone, but Mike also has to care for his 10 children-all of whom have come down with virulent flu at once!

Discovering a secret pattern in The Teacher's lessons, Detective Bennett realizes he has just hours to save New York from the greatest disaster in its history. From the #1 bestselling author comes RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, the continuation of his newest, electrifying series.

Mama’s Money Savers Disclaimer: I was given book to review. This review is 100% my opinion and has not been edited or reviewed by anyone. I was not compensated in any other way for this product review.

I have a James Patterson book at home. It's Along Came A Spider. My aunt who loves reading also gave it to me and I was really wondering why, but when I read the book...Woah! I was really amazed by the imagination of this man! It scared the hell out of me. I'm sure that this book is as good as the first one.
