MY THOUGHTS:

This is my third house with hardwood floors and I have always dreaded cleaning them. Now I do like to use different mops and vacuums for different reasons and I do think they each can have their benefits and faults. For example, for quick cleanups I use a mop and handheld vacuum, but for a deeper cleaning I like to really scrub and vacuum my floors. My choices before were two separate items, which as a busy mom I don’t always have time for but need to do!

The Hoover Floormate is awesome because it is a vacuum, wet floor cleaner and as a bonus it even dries the floors too! Assembling the Hoover FloorMate was super easy as it just snapped together. Then you added water and floor cleaner to it and you are ready to go. Now having a vacuum and mop in one was definitely nice and a time saver but I will say it doesn’t have a vacuum wand so if you want to really get into crevices this won’t really do it. Since I have boys who seem to get crumbs everywhere, I really need to do a good vacuum job first so I found myself using the Hoover Floormate but then going back around the edges with a handvac.

Next it was time to clean the floors. All I had to do was push a button and the floor solution sprayed onto the floor. Then I just pushed the FloorMate back and forth like a vacuum to scrub the floors. I definitely saw the scrubbers working as they scrubbed up the spots on my floor, mainly dried milk from sippy cups leaking! To save time it is awesome to vacuum and scrub with one device and at basically one time. I also love how the handle folds down to save space.

Overall, I have found myself reaching for the Hoover Floormate more than I expected. Even though I have to add cleaner and water (and plug it in) I found it is easier than pushing a bucket around. I also like that I am not reusing dirty water and I can actually see the dirt that came off my floors in the dirty water canister. It is a very easy to use Vacuum/Mop! Oh and the other day when my son spilled a whole cup of juice, not only did I suck it up with the Floormate but then I used it to scrub the floors so they wouldn’t be sticky! No more bending down and scrubbing! Although, if you do have really stuck on spots on your wood you either have to go over it a few times or get down and really scrub it yourself. I would recommend this cleaner though for any mom trying to make cleaning hard surface floors faster and easier!
