{Back to School Guide} Wendy’s Reinvented Salads Review (& Giveaway Ends 8/31)

Wendy’s has reinvented four tasty salads to add to their menu. They are hand-made every day right in the restaurant with fresh ingredients delivered straight from the fields.

Apple Pecan Chicken Salad

A Perfect mix of peak-season red and green apples, real blue cheese crumbles, sweet cranberries and roasted pecans, topped with a warm, grilled chicken fillet.

Baja Salad

A hearty salad with Southwest flair, featuring fresh pico de gallo, guacamole and slow simmered chili, all topped with a red jalapeño dressing.

Spicy Chicken Cesar Salad

Cesar salad the way it’s supposed to be, made with hand-chopped romaine, sweet grape tomatoes and shaved Asiago cheese.

BLT Cobb Salad

Treat yourself to the taste of crispy Applewood Smoked bacon mixed with real blue cheese crumbles, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes and avocado ranch dressing.

MY THOUGHTS:

I love Wendy’s in general as there food always does have a freshness quality to them. From their hamburgers to their Frosty’s, I am never disappointed. Now when I do go to a fast-food restaurant like Wendy’s I typically get a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, never a salad as my entrée. I figure if I want a salad I will go to a place that specializes in soup and salads, so when I heard about the new salads at Wendy’s I was skeptical. I also don’t really like chicken in my salads so I figured my best bet would be the Baja Salad.

Okay so first off the salads at Wendy’s are pretty big and reasonably priced, about $6. I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered the Baja salad but I definitely got more than I thought I would. I received a container of Wendy’s chili (which I am sad to say I had never tried before), a bag of tortilla strips, and a packet of jalapeño dressing (not spicy at all and I am usually a baby with spicy foods). The salad alone was pretty big and once I added in the chili, it was definitely filling. I have already gotten this salad three times, while my husband really likes the BLT Cobb Salad. Everything in the salads are fresh and crisp, no wilting. I am though very impressed with the taste coming from a hamburger restaurant!

I do think I might check out the other two salads as I know they will be tasty also. I also will add that I purchased a cheeseburger with the salad, but it really was filling so I didn’t even eat the cheeseburger! Whether you have tried Wendy’s before and didn’t want the typical fast-food items or have never been there, I highly recommend checking out their new salads and saving some money from going to salad specialty restaurants!
