ABOUT:
ReUsies™ are a re-usable alternative to sandwich/snack bags, each one has the potential to eliminate hundreds of plastic bags. ReUsies™ are 100% cotton lined with leak-resistant nylon and are secured with Velcro® closures.
Available in two sizes:
Snack: approx. 6” w / 5” h
The snack size holds a half sandwich or whole sandwich with the crust cut off! It is good for smaller quantities of crackers, pretzels, apple slices, etc.
Sandwich: approx. 7.5” w/ 6”h
The sandwich size holds a typical “grown up”- sized sandwich, full bagel, or larger quantity of snacks.
A typical lunch would contain one sandwich and two snack-sized bags or three snack-sized bags.
ReUsies™ can be machine washed and dried, washed in the dishwasher, or for longest life simply wiped clean with a soapy sponge and air dried.
MY THOUGHTS:
I love the idea of replacing my plastic sandwich bags with ReUsies. They are not only adorable, but a great size and machine washable! There are so many times when I fill a sandwich bag with some pretzels or goldfish to take on errands for my little guy and I feel so wasteful. ReUsies are kid-friendly as they have a Velcro closure and my son thinks its cool to eat his snacks out of his colorful ReUsies rather than a boring plastic bag. I also feel better not contributing yet another plastic bag to a landfill.
Overall, ReUsies are perfect for snacks and lunches, the small one is perfect for my son and the bigger one is perfect for me! I also love that ReUsies are more durable and are not going to get gross and crinkly in my purse. When my sons start taking lunches to school, I am definitely going to try to push ReUsies on them as that is a lot of sandwich bags they will be throwing away in their lifetime at school!
BUY IT: You can buy ReUsies directly from the ReUsies website or check to see if there is a store in your area that sells them.
WIN IT: (1) US winner will receive a 2-pack of ReUsies which includes 1 snack and 1 sandwich bag. (Winner will provide a list of their top 3 pattern choices and one will be sent out as available.)
